Where are we actually going?

Your Compass is Broken (And You're Drifting)

Imagine getting into an Uber. The driver turns around and asks, "Where to?" and you say, "I don't know, just drive."

You would end up burning gas, wasting time, and probably ending up somewhere in a cornfield you didn't want to visit.

Most people treat their lives exactly like that passenger. They are busy. They are moving. They are doing things. But they are drifting. They have no Definite Purpose. They are like a ship with a busted rudder, pushed around by the winds of circumstance.

To create the wealth and abundance we talked about, you need a Strategic Direction. You need a compass that points True North.

This starts with Purpose. Purpose isn't something you buy off a shelf. It is hardwired into you. It is the intersection of what you are good at and what you absolutely love to do. It is your sun. It doesn't move. Everything else—your goals, your plans, your daily tasks—orbits around it.

Once you have the Purpose, you need a Vision.

Vision is the promise of what you shall one day be. It is the mental picture of your purpose in action. Helen Keller said the most pathetic person in the world is someone with sight but no vision. You have to see it before you can see it.

This is where "Believing is Seeing" comes in. We are taught the opposite—that we will believe it when we see it. That is the logic of the skeptic and the pauper. The master understands that perception is a product of belief. You have to build the image in the mental studio of your mind first.

You have to "freeze frame" that vision. You have to make a decision that this is where you are going, regardless of the current weather report.

When you have a clear vision, decision-making becomes simple. Does this activity move me toward the vision? Yes? Do it. No? Drop it.

As you continue to read these emails, you are going to find that success becomes a natural byproduct of your clarity. You will stop wasting energy on things that don't matter.

You want to be the person who knows exactly where they are going. The world steps aside for the man who knows where he is going. In fact, the world usually runs to catch up with him.

You are going to look back and be so grateful you clicked the links in these emails, because they are the coordinates for your destination.

But here is the catch. You can have a purpose, and you can have a vision. But if you set the wrong kind of goals to get there, you will stay stuck in first gear forever. Most people set goals that act like anchors, not engines.

Tomorrow, I am going to show you why your current goals are likely too small, too boring, and completely useless for creating wealth.

If you had to describe your life's vision in one sentence, would you be able to do it?

Best,

Bradley Woods
