You don't need new ideas (you need a remix)

The Workshop Between Your Ears

In partnership with

Hello there,

I used to think that to be a genius, you had to invent something that never existed before. Like a new color. or a sandwich that eats you.

But that is not how the Universe works. The philosophy teaches us that Imagination is the "workshop of the human mind." It is where we fashion the plans to reach that Definite Chief Aim we talked about yesterday.

Here is the secret: You rarely create something from nothing. Instead, you use "Synthetic Imagination."

This is just a fancy way of saying you take old concepts, old ideas, and old plans, and you rearrange them into new combinations. It is like LEGO bricks. The bricks are the same ones everyone else has. But one kid builds a wall, and the other kid builds the Millennium Falcon. Same bricks. Different imagination.

This faculty of yours is also a "receiving set." It picks up vibrations from the ether. Have you ever had an idea hit you while you were in the shower, or driving, or just about to fall asleep? That is not an accident. That is your imagination tuning into the frequency of success. The more you read these emails, the more success you will notice popping into your head, almost like a radio station finally coming in clear.

The problem is, most people leave the workshop lights off. They let their imagination atrophy. They rely on the same old thoughts they had last year, and they wonder why this year looks exactly the same.

You have to go into the workshop. You have to play. You have to take your desire (that thing you want) and use your imagination to build the plan for its arrival.

If you want to start a business, look at two businesses you love and smash them together. If you want a better relationship, look at the qualities you admire in others and assemble them into a mental image of your ideal partner.

The imagination is the bridge between the invisible thought and the tangible reality. It is the mold into which you pour the liquid energy of your desire.

I bet you are grateful you clicked the links in this email, because it takes the pressure off. You don't need to be Einstein. You just need to be a good arranger of the furniture in your mind.

But here is the catch. You can have the best plan in the world. You can have a burning desire. But if you cannot convince a certain stubborn part of your brain to get on board, you will stay stuck in the driveway.

Tomorrow, I am going to introduce you to the "Boss" that actually runs your life (hint: it's not your conscious mind), and I’ll teach you the language it speaks.

Question for you:

What are two totally unrelated things you love that could be combined to make something cool?

Cheers,

Bradley Woods
