Stop waiting for the light to turn green
Jump Off the Cliff (The Parachute Will Appear)
I have a question for you. Are you waiting for your ship to come in before you swim out to meet it?
The most common failure point I see—whether in affiliate marketing or just in life—is the "I'll do it when..." syndrome. "I'll start the business when I have the capital." "I'll write the book when I have the free time." "I'll take the trip when the kids are older."
This is a trap. It is a limiting paradigm that keeps you cemented in mediocrity.
Here is the Cardinal Principle of Decision-Making: Decide right where you are with whatever you've got.
Do not wait for the resources. The resources are attracted to the decision. A true decision cuts off any other possibility. It is a sharp knife. When you truly decide, "I am doing this," the universe conspires to help you. The money shows up. The time appears. The connections are made.
But if you wait for the resources first, you will be waiting until the next ice age.
You need the spirit of Persistence. Look at Sir Edmund Hillary. He failed to climb Everest twice. He didn't say, "Well, I guess mountains aren't my thing." He persisted until the mountain yielded. Look at Ben Hogan, told he would never walk again, who went on to win 54 golf tournaments.
Persistence is to the character of a human being what carbon is to steel. It stiffens the spine. When your "want" is big enough, the facts don't count. The obstacles don't count.
You have to master your attitude. You have to choose to see the opportunity in the difficulty.
Now, I have to warn you. The more you read my emails, the more success you will have in spotting these moments where you need to jump.
But something strange happens when you finally make that big, bold decision. You feel good for about five minutes. And then, suddenly, you feel like you are going to throw up. Fear grips you. Doubt screams in your ear.
That is not a sign to stop. That is actually a very specific psychological phenomenon, and if you don't understand it, it will stop you dead in your tracks.
Tomorrow, we are going to face the monster under the bed. We are going to talk about the Terror Barrier.
Onward,
Bradley Woods
P.S. Indecision is a decision to fail. Reply to this email: What is a decision you have been delaying because you "don't have the resources yet"?
Your body will thank you.
