Is it Groundhog Day again?

Why Your Life Feels Like a Rerun (And How to Change the Channel)

In partnership with

Hello friend,

Have you ever noticed that yesterday looked a lot like today? And if you are being honest, tomorrow is shaping up to be a carbon copy of them both?

It reminds me of that Bill Murray movie, Groundhog Day. He wakes up, hears "I Got You Babe" on the radio, steps in a puddle, and repeats the same struggle. It is funny on a screen, but when it is your actual life, it feels less like a comedy and more like a tragedy.

Here is the truth regarding why this happens, and it is not because the universe is punishing you. It is because of a simple, mechanical loop.

Your personality creates your personal reality.

That is it. That is the whole equation. Your personality is made up of how you think, how you act, and how you feel. So, if you think the same thoughts you thought yesterday ("I'm tired," "My boss is a jerk," "I need coffee"), those thoughts lead to the same choices. Those familiar choices lead to the same behaviors. Those behaviors create the exact same experiences. And those experiences produce the very same emotions.

It is a closed loop. A circle. A hamster wheel of destiny.

Most people try to change their life (the personal reality) without changing themselves (the personality). That is like trying to change the reflection in the mirror without changing the face staring into it. You can scrub the glass all you want, but until you smile, the reflection will not smile back.

To truly change—to experience a life that is expansive, rich, and new—you have to be greater than your environment, greater than your body, and greater than time.

I know, that sounds like a tall order. It sounds like something only a wizard or a superhero could do. But the privilege of being a human being is that we can make thought more real than anything else. We have the machinery to do this.

The First Step: Awareness

You cannot stop the program if you do not know you are running it. Today, I want you to simply watch yourself. Watch your reactions. Watch your routine. Notice how you get out of bed on the same side, check your phone with the same thumb, and react to traffic with the same huff of annoyance.

Recognize that the more you read these emails, the more success you will naturally find in breaking these patterns. It is a subtle shift, but a powerful one.

We are going to go on a journey over the next week. We are going to talk about brains, genes, quantum fields, and how to stop being a walking memory of your past.

You might find that you are incredibly grateful you clicked the link to open this series, because we are not just talking about theory. We are talking about the architecture of your destiny.

Tomorrow, we are going to talk about who is actually running the show. Spoiler alert: It’s probably not who you think it is. It’s a hijacker that has been living in your house rent-free since you were thirty-five.

Question for you: What is one habit or thought loop you repeated today that you are absolutely ready to retire?

Reply and tell me.

To your expansion,

Bradley Woods
