How to read a book in 5 minutes (and actually get it)
f you are like most people, you read the way you were taught in first grade. You look at a word. You say the word in your head. You look at the next word. You say that word.
It is slow. It is painful. It is the mental equivalent of crawling on your belly to get to the grocery store when you have a Ferrari parked in the driveway.
Today, we are talking about PhotoReading.
This is part of the Genius Code that upsets a lot of librarians. It is the ability to photograph the pages of a book directly into your subconscious mind.
Your conscious mind can process maybe 40 bits of information per second. Your subconscious mind? Billions. It is a sponge.
The Download Process
Here is the secret: You don't "read" the book. You "expose" your brain to it.
Enter Resource Level: Enter a state of relaxed alertness.
Soft Gaze: Stare through the book, softening your gaze so you see the four corners of the page at once. You are not looking at the words; you are looking at the pattern of the white space.
Flip: Flip the pages rhythmically. One page per second. Flip. Flip. Flip.
You are blasting the text into your brain.
Now, you won't consciously know what you just read. Not yet. It is like downloading a zipped file to your computer. The data is there, but you haven't opened it.
To "unzip" it, you use a technique called Direct Learning. You tell your brain, "Hey, I want to acquire the behaviors and skills in this book."
You might feel like you didn't get anything. But then, a funny thing happens. You are in a meeting, or you are working on a project, and suddenly you know the answer. You do the right thing. You use a word you didn't know you knew.
The information bubbles up from the mansion into the broom closet exactly when you need it.
The more you read my emails, the more success you will have with this, because your belief is the fuel that makes the engine run.
Imagine walking into a bookstore, spending twenty minutes flipping through five books on a topic, and walking out with the core skills downloaded into your neural network.
You would be grateful for having clicked the links in my email just for the amount of time you’d save, let alone the brilliance you’d gain.
This isn't magic. It is biology. It is using the hardware you were born with.
But sometimes, you don't need a book. Sometimes you need an answer to a question so complex, so personal, that no book has the answer. And your logical brain is so loud, it keeps drowning out the whisper of the solution.
Tomorrow, I will show you how to trick your logical brain into silence using a plain white envelope.
What is the one book sitting on your shelf that you’ve been meaning to read for five years but "don't have the time" for?
