Don't let the big one get away

Slippery Fish and The Art of Starting

In partnership with

Earl Nightingale, a legend in this game, once said that ideas are like slippery fish. If you don't gaff them with the point of a pencil, they will slide out of your hands and swim away forever.

We have talked about the mind. We have talked about the vision. Now we have to talk about the hands and feet. We have to talk about Action.

This is the Law of Action: Thought impresses the subconscious, but action expresses it. You cannot just be a dreamer; you must be a doer. The Universe loves speed.

When a big idea hits you—that C-Type goal we talked about—you have a limited window. Inspiration has a shelf life. You must act. You must do something to ground that electricity into the physical world.

This brings us to the Principle of Decision.

Indecision is a disease. It rots the soul. It creates internal conflict. Most people are waiting for the "perfect time." They are waiting for the lights to turn green all the way across town before they pull out of the driveway.

Here is the rule: Decide right where you are, with whatever you've got.

Do not wait for the resources. The resources follow the decision. When you make a committed decision, you flip a switch in the universe. Coincidences start to happen. People show up. Money appears. But you have to move first.

And you must move with Persistence. Persistence is to the character of a man what carbon is to steel. It isn't just stubbornness. It is the result of a desire that is so big, so all-consuming, that quitting isn't even an option in your vocabulary.

Think of the great athletes. Think of Ben Hogan. They told him he'd never walk again. He decided otherwise. He didn't just walk; he won. He moved.

As you read these emails, you are programming your mind for this kind of automatic success. You are becoming the person who acts.

You will be grateful you clicked the links in these emails, because they are the tools you need to capture those slippery ideas before they vanish.

However, I have to warn you. The moment you make a big decision, the moment you start moving toward a C-Type goal, something is going to happen. You are going to hit a wall. A big, invisible, terrifying wall.

It stops 99% of people dead in their tracks. Tomorrow, I'm going to show you how to smash right through it.

What is one action step you have been putting off that you could take right now, in the next 10 minutes?

Do it now,

Bradley Woods
